The CDS School celebrated its Inter house Annual Sports Day on 1st December, 2018 with a lot of enthusiasm and Zeal. The students from all the three houses namely Agni, Vayu and Prithvi competed among themselves to clinch the convicted trophy.
The tournament began with hosting of the school flag by the chief guest Mr Rajan Nair. (Former executive member of Vidarbha Cricket Association)

Various sports event took place namely Javelin throw, Discus throw, Shot put, Throw ball,Cricket, Athletics, Long jump, High jump, Football, Basketball, Chess, Table tennis, Badminton.

On the occasion Mr Sanket Saraf, the trustee as well the Educational Advisor  in his speech portrayed the importance of sports and the discipline that comes along with it.

Mrs. Nish Saraf the school director was also the guest of honour for the event.

The school principal Mr Kenneth Mendonca welcomed the chief guest Mr Rajan Nair and other guests.

Mr. Percy Amroliwalla, the Sports coordinator of the school also worked hard for the success of the event.

The results of the various events are mentioned below:-

• Shot put: IshaWele, Vanshika Sharma, Abhishek Bind, Yahayaa Taji, Pranjal Kawade, Sushmit Dhondge

Athletics:-
1) 100 mts Running Race:  Mimansa Joshi, Neha Bhodoriya, Adarsh Shukla, AbhijayPatil, Sakshi Maske, Tanishq Gajbhiye, Rehan Ansari, Anjali Ghavat,Anjali Tiwari, Param Pathrode
2) 200 mts Running Race: Mimansa Joshi, Jannvi Revo, Chaitanya Vanjari, Om Bhoyar, Sargam Godbole, Tanishq Gajbhiye,Anjali Ghavat, Saksham Bagde, Abhishek S,Vidhi Karway.
3) 400 mts Running Race: Mimansa Joshi, Jannvi Revo, Priyansh Dubey, DevavratGhagarkar,
Nandini Maurya, Rohan Yadav.
Sportsman of the year was awarded to Mimansa Joshi with a total tally of medals to a whopping 9 medals Prithvi house with a total of 232 points emerged as the undisputed winners.

The Chanda Devi Saraf School student Tanishq Gajbhiye brought laurels to the school by securing First Position in the state level Sqay Marshal Arts Tournament which was held at Latur. He won the gold level at the state meet and shall represent Maharashtra state in the upcoming Nationals.
On this glorious achievement the School Director Mrs Nisha Saraf, The school Principal Mr Kenneth Mendonca along with the sports co-ordinator Mr Percy Amroliwala congratulated the student.

With the desire of encouraging the dance and music skills of the students a national level ‘9th All India Music Dance and Multi Lingual Mono Acting competition’ was conducted at Goa ( Madgaon) from 29th to 31st October 2018. There were total 149 performances of solo and group dances from all over India. The dance teacher Mrs. Jayshree. K. Meshram trained the students for teh competition. Mrs Rina Gupta also accompanied the students to Goa for the competition.

Pornima.N.Bandole; Bhagyashree.R.Sakore, Arpita.L.Gautam and khushboo.Sakore were the winners of the Folk Dance competition.

Esha.Nilesh. Dahasahasre  secured first and Samriddhi kumara Gupta secured second position for Solo Classical Competition.

Shivam pandey secured first and Rinjha. Choudhary. secured second position for Solo Modern Dance.

The school Director Mrs. Nisha. Saraf as well as  the principal Mr. Kenneth Mendonca. Congratulated the students on their splendid achievement.

The CDS School, Katol Road branch student Neha Bhadoriya of class 10th brought laurels to the school by securing 2nd position in the 100 and 400 meters track and field event in the CM Chashak Tournament held in Nagpur on 16th and 18th Nov 2018. She also won a cash prize of Rs. 2000/- along with silver medals.
On this fabulous and proud moment the school Director Mrs. Nisha Saraf along with the school principal Mr. Kenneth Mendonca and Mr Percy Amroliwalla the sports co-ordinator congratulated the student on her achievements.

The CDS School celebrates its 24th Founder’s Day on 15th November, 2018. On this occasion the school Principal Mr. Kenneth Mendonca shared with everyone how the school was started with merely 5 to 10 students and now the school has more than 3000 students combine all 3 branches.
There are 3 branches of The CDS School in Nagpur and 1 branch in Pune. The school is developing in leaps and bounds. He also announced that from the next academic session the CDS School will be continuing its 11th Science ISC board in the school.
The students of the school celebrated the day by putting stalls of food and games for the fancy fete, students danced and enjoyed themselves throughout the day.

The CDS School (Katol Road) celebrated the Children’s Day in a Gala way.  Children’s day is celebrated across India to increase the awareness of the rights, care and education of the children. It is celebrated as ‘Bal Divas’ on 14th November every year on the birth anniversary of the first Prime Minister of India Jawaharlal Nehru. Children should always be carefully nurtured as they are the future of the country.
The School Principal Mr. Kenneth Mendonca commenced the children’s day function by addressing the importance of the day. Mrs Bharti Malviya also shared her thoughts on this occasion. Mrs. Rashmi Sinha, Mrs. Usha Bhatt, Mrs. Triveni Gaikwad, Mrs. Manjula , M/s Cristina Mendonca sang songs for the students. A group song performance was also staged by the middle school teachers. Children were distributed sweets at the end of the function.
With a noble thought of spreading “The Joy of Giving “ The young minds of the CDS school gathered clothing for the less privileged kids. The clothing’s were distributed to the kids of Jagdishnagar by the school principal Mr. Kenneth Mendonca on the occasion of Children’s Day.

The CDS school (katol Road) student Miss Neha. D. Bhadoriya shines at the DSO Divisional level tournament in the athletics individual event in 200 meters & 400 meters her time being 27 sec & 1: 03 sec respectively. Neha will be representing Nagpur District in the state level tournament to be held at Satara.    
Master Tanishq. A. Gajbhiye of 8th A sets his eyes on the state level tournament, after winning the DSO Divisional level in Gymnastics by a whopping 49.25 points. He overpowered his opponent in all the 5 gymnastics events. Tanishq shall be representing Nagpur District in the state level tournament going to be held at Sangli, Maharashtra.
On this double Joyous & proud moment the school Director Mrs. Nisha. Saraf along with the school principal Mr. Kenneth Mendonca and Mr Percy Amroliwalla the sports co-ordinator congratulated the students on their achievements.

Mrs Veronica Majumdar was the judge for the competition.
The winners of the junior level were:
First position: Dev Joshi
Second position: Umar Shaikh
Third position: Soham Mehta

First position: Chidbhas Mohanti
Second position: Ayushi sahare

The Kindergarten and Primary section of  The Chandadevi Saraf  School Katol Road celebrated the Annual Day  recently at Vasantrao Deshpande Hall,Civil Lines.
The programme began with the traditional lighting of the lamp by Chief Guest Dr. Dhruti Parmar followed by a melodious Welcome Song.
After the melodious song Principal Sir Mr.Kenneth Mendonca introduced & welcomed the Guests Dr. Dhruti Parmar, Mrs. Kalpana Mandavgane and Dr. Babita Singh. Annual report was read by Mrs. Vanita Ambhore followed by dances performed by II A Eid Dance, Independence Day by III A and Parsi New Year dance by I C. After the wonderful dance performances the choir group of kindergarten came up with the song Raksha Bandhan .
The festival of Onam was brought live by the students of I C .After the festival from the South the tiny tots of Nursery presented a dance Janmashtami . Then it was time for the Chief Guest to address the gathering. After the motivating address by the Chief Guest Dr. Dhruti Parmar. The students of IV A danced to please Lord Ganesha. After praying to Lord Ganesha the Students of class III B celebrated Navratri by performing Garba. Kavya Meshram of Class III B sang a song on ‘Mother’. Students of Class I A celebrated Diwali. The tiny tots of KG II celebrated Christmas and KG I danced merrily and celebrated New Year. Students of Class III A flew kites and danced celebrating Sankranti.
Our Tabla experts Vaidik Jha and Prashil Mendhe showed their talent on the stage. Students of Class II A celebrated Pongal by dancing .The choir group of Primary sang a song on Basant Panchami. Dhairya Kothe  III A presented a Ram Bhajan. Girls of I B danced to celebrate Gudipadwa followed by Bihu Dance by the Students of class II-B.  
The choir group sang a song on Buddha Purnima then Students of class IV B took the audience to Punjab. They performed the lively Bhangda showing the celebration of Bhaisakhi.
Our Director Mrs. Nisha Saraf addressed the audience and blessed the students and appreciated their performance. After the motivational speech the primary students displayed their talent in gymnastics.
The programme was compered by Christina Ma’am and Gurdeesh Kaur of X B. Almost all the festivals of India were depicted very effectively  in a short span of three hours. All the teachers and students of Kindergarten and Primary under the able guidance of dance Teacher Jayshree Meshram worked hard to make the programme a success.
Co-ordinator Sonali Chikhale proposed a vote of thanks and the programme ended with the National Anthem.
