Our dream of becoming independent came to existence when finally the British transferred all the powers to govern our land to us. We were finally an independence nation. To govern such a large nation, we needed a constitution, so, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar prepared a constitution. This constitution came into force on 26th January, 1950. We celebrate this day as the Republic Day.
Our 66th Republic Day, was celebrated with great patriotism and enthusiasm at CDS school, Katol Road. As our Chief Guest  Mr. Ashim Munshi arrived , he along with the Principal were escorted to the stadium for hoisting the flag and sang our National Anthem. We were blessed to have M.R. Ashim Munshi as are Chief Guest. Tiny Tots of Std. III started the function with the patriotic song – Ae watan, hum ko teri kasam. It was a wonderful performance by our Tiny Tots. Moving on, Samruddhi Barbate from Std. VI-C expressed her feelings with zealous words, which sent a wave of patriotism to each heart each one present there. Once again, tiny tots of Std. I and II rendered a heart touching performance of the song – Mera Karma Tu. The audience was moved at heart to hear such a beautiful patriotic song from our young patriots.
Further, Hrishikesh Mondhe gave salutations to our great leaders through his speech. Every event is incomplete without a dance performance. Above all, we are living in the era of remix. So, to entertain our audience, students of std. VI-VII gave a brilliant dance performance on a remix of patriotic songs. The young performers were applauded by all. Moving on students of Std. VI-B made us proud of being an Indian through their dance performance on the song – India Wale. It was an enthusiastic performance. Futher, Tarun Kumar paid tribute to our brave soldiers, leaders and patriots through his speech. We are a unique nation. We fought for our independence and finally achieved it. Girls of Std. VIII-B paid salutations to our mother land and threw light on the fact that we - Indians never gave in, through their dance on the song – Maa Tuhje Salam. It was a fabulous performance. It was then time that our Chief Guest enlightened us with his words of wisdom. The Chief Guest gave a speech and his each word made us more proud to be an Indian. Moving on, little stars of std. IV-B gave a wonderful performance by singing a beautiful song Nanha Munha Rahi hoon! It was then time that our respected Principal Sir, Mr. Kenneth Mendonca , guided our young patriots and thanked all the parents for supporting our school in every way. But the function was not over yet , under the guidance of Shivani Ma’am, students of Std. V-VI gave a mind blowing performance. The performance was packed with enthusiasm, confidence and stunts. This performance instilled ‘josh’ in each one of us present there.
Osheen Rajpal anchored the function and kept the audience cheerful with her anchoring packed with zeal and patriotic couplets. At the end Triveni Gaikwad Ma’am thanked each & everyone who supported us to make our show a successful one through her vote of thanks. Under the co-ordination of Bharti Ma’am, our show was a big hit. We ended our programme with the singing of our National Anthem. Each one of us took with us a sense of patriotism which made us proud to be an Indian.
Jai Hind!!
