Oxford publishers organised a one day workshop for teachers on “Pedagogy” at The C.D.S School, Katol Road Branch in the fore noon of 17th June,2016. Mrs. Shilpi Bhattacharya was the resource person for the event. In the workshop Mrs. Bhattacharya elaborated principles of teaching and the method of teaching process. She stated that in a classroom a teacher must involve their students by encouraging them to discuss topics thoroughly by doing practical  exercise, activity and projects.
Leaping towards “How to teach Science ?” She stressed on learning Science as a process rather than a subject. A teacher should inculcate Science skills in a student to learn and understand Science. A student must develop a self and independent process of thinking and must have a keen observation so to learn from surroundings. A good presentation skill will do a lot a wonders to a student. A student must have a sound reasoning ability to questions. An excellent “communication skill will help a student not only in his presentation and study but also in his day to day life.
Mrs. Bhattacharya also stressed on virtual Lab. “A classroom Lab on teacher’s table”. She Stated that minor instruments should be brought into the classroom for doing  practical instead  of the child being taken to the practical lab every time.
The workshop on pedagogy was an enriching experience for the teaching faculty of the school. Through this workshop they were exposed to a novel concept of teaching a method that will take their teaching to much higher level which will be beneficial for teachers as well as students.
